Bone Scan

​

To study the skeletal system for any unusual bone growth patterns that may indicate the presence of disease or injury that may escape detection by X-ray or CT.

How do I prepare for a bone scan?

No preparation is necessary. The contrast is administered intravenously. Once injection is administered, there will be a delay of 2-3 hours before exam is performed. The exam takes 1 hr.
